Is Juhi’s marriage in trouble?
There’s buzz that distance has strained Raj and Nadira Babbar’s daughter’s marriage; but Juhi has something else to say
Sadly, there appears to be a dark cloud on bubbly theatre person Juhi Babbar’s horizon. Rumours are that the marriage between Raj and Nadira Babbar’s daughter and filmmaker Bijoy Nambiar is undergoing a strain. Last year the couple, long-time sweethearts, tied the knot in June amidst much fanfare. Barely were they back from the honeymoon, when Bijoy went to Kerala to shoot a film for Ashok Amritraj’s Gateway contest. He then left for Hollywood to do more work for Amritraj. And that is where he currently is, doing quite well too, thank-you! But, undeniably, his absence is being felt by the homebound Juhi.
This paper would not like to suggest that the young couple is finding it difficult to make their long-distance marriage work. Though Juhi does admit she is often asked by friends about Bijoy and when he intends returning. An emotionally strong, young woman, and full of confidence, she is determined to ignore the rumours of the discord in her married life and continue to be Bijoy’s support back home. “This has been his lifetime’s dream, but I am not happy being by myself over here, and I’m sure that Bijoy isn’t happy being alone in the US either,” Juhi told BT when asked of the rumours.
Bijoy, too, dismissed the gossip with a message from the US that said, “I am a very private person. I would not like to comment on any claims or questions regarding our personal lives. I am abroad now and workwise, it’s a great time for both of us, and we do not want matters like this to disturb our focus.”
What was it that was said about absence making the heart grow fonder? We hope it’s true, and that this does not turn out to be a case of out of sight... out of mind, much as the churning gossip mills in Mumbai would like it to be.
