Has Britney dumped Madonna?

An old chestnut - a friend in need is a friend indeed is certainly holding true today as reports have it that at a time Madonna needs her friends the most, Britney Spears is being less than gracious.
According to reports, Britney who has been a regular feature on Madonna's Sticky and Sweet tour, has cancelled her Miami performance to spend time with her kids before Thanksgiving.
We say this is less than gracious because Madonna invited Britney on the tour so that the troubled pop-star can remain in the public eye and get the much-needed push to bring her career back on track.
This invitation was part of Madonna's generous plan to help Britney who has gone through a bad patch with rehab programmes, custody battles and binges of all kinds
Now that Madonna is undergoing a highly publicised and somewhat nasty divorce with Guy Ritchie, Britney has cancelled on her. At a time when the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow are leaving their work and coming to Madge's aid, Britney has made this move that can be seen as abandonment.

This announcement comes weeks after Madonna made laborious statements supporting Britney and appealed to her fans to give her another chance.

No word has come yet on how Madonna has responded to this. Is it the beginning of the end of a musical friendship between two super divas?
