Know more about Dimpy, Rahul Mahajan's new bride, who isn't all you thought she was... A little known fact: Dimpy (or Saumyoshri) Ganguly, the new bride of Rahul Mahajan has done some dare-bare hot scenes in the Bengali film Hello Memsaheb.
Says a director from Kolkata on condition of anonymity, "She did some bold scenes in the Jeet-Priyanka Trivedi-starrer Hello Memsaheb. She has also done an item number somewhat similar to Mallika Sherawat's Maiyya Maiyya track from Guru."
She acted in Ratri Zee Bangla's mega serial Uthoshober Ratri and even anchored Rupasi Bangla's Dashavatar TV programme. But her heart was always set on films. She was open to doing any role from a cameo to an item numbers."
Says a make-up artiste, "Dimpy is quite a bindaas babe, without any inhibitions and was cool about doing any kind of scene and wearing anything the director wanted her to do. Once she came to Aqua (club) wearing casuals, removed that to reveal a bikini, and jumped into the pool! She was second runner-up in the Sananda Tilottama (a beauty pageant organised by the magazine edited by Aparna Sen) in 2007. She is a party animal.
Though Dimpy was linked to Neel Shah, she used to date lots of guys and never had a steady boyfriend. The new Mrs Mahajan was once plump but she got into shape. She loved the party life and was definitely not a Ms Goody Two-Shoes like she pretends to be," concludes the informer.
Make up artiste Aniruddha Chakladar who has worked with Dimpy says, "I found her very professional and recommended her to others. She was an easy person to work and had a very mobile face. I have enjoyed working with her."
Jishu Dasgupta who's worked with Dimpy on a Bengali soap Uthoshober Ratri recalls the first time he met her. "She had what it takes to be an actor. Not only was she ambitious but also very career oriented. I noticed her on a hoarding in Kolkata and asked her to come and audition. She made it in the very first audition and I knew she would be very popular." Adding that he's approached her for another show as well, the director adds, "I want to cast her for another show I am directing. I have already asked her and hope that even though she's married, Dimpy will continue to act."
