Early days: Zeta Jones started her career on the stage, performing for parents and in the neighbourhood theatre.
Caught in pyjamas: She was first discovered for something more than neighbourhood theatre at the age of 14 when she was spotted by Mickey Dolenz in her audition for The Pyjama Game.
Stepping stones: As custom would have it, she moved on from theatre to TV, where she acted in the hit TV series The Darling Buds of May, and also in an episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
On to movies: Zeta Jones' first stint with the movies was in 1993, when she played Kitty in the comedy film, Splitting Heirs.

The Douglas connection: That was not the only reason why Traffic was special. More important than the award nomination was the meeting between Catherine and her future husband, Michael Douglas, that took place on the sets of this film.
