Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai MARRIED two years ago today

Abhi-Ash: Power couple celebrates No. 2

Two years into their marriage, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai remain Bollywood's No. 1 married couple. And they will remain that till Salman Khan gets hitched to Katrina Kaif. But for now, Bachchan junior and his wife are the big story for those who like happy endings.

MARRIED two years ago today, the couple has faced many ups and downs. On the personal side, they are happy together. Going by the photographs of the duo at various events, they still look newly married: always holding hands and very much in love. This certainly defies their astrological angularities; while Ash is a headstrong Scorpion, Abhishek is the sarcastic Aquarian.

Abhi-Aish head to the US or Europe for anniversary!

Rumours were rife of a baby adding to the happy family; however, there has been no news on that front. On the professional front, the power couple has received mixed news. While Ash - after proving her mettle in Bollywood - has featured in several international projects, Abhishek is yet to make it to the list of the Bollywood elite.

Since becoming a bride, Aishwarya has churned out movies such as Guru (hit), Jodha Akbar (hit), Dhoom 2 (average) and Umrao Jaan (flop) in Bollywood.
However, the 36-year-old former beauty queen has not received equal acclaim in both her Hollywood projects, The Last Legion (flop) and Pink Panther 2 (flop). Despite this, her general aura remains unfazed and she would still make it to the shortest of shortlists of A-stars in Bollywood.

This has not been the case with hubby Abhi, who has struggled to put his career together. After dozens of movies since his debut in 2000, 33-year-old Abhishek has not been able to develop an identity of his own, unlike his father and the Khans.

Since tying the knot, Abhishek's Bollywood releases have been Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (flop), Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (flop), Umrao Jaan (flop), Guru (hit), Drona (flop), Sarkar Raj (average), Dostana (hit) and Dilli 6 (flop).

The couple jointly paid Rs 7.9 crore in tax last year, with Ash paying Rs 4.7 crore and Abhishek paying Rs 3.2 crore. This means they had an income of over Rs 25 crore. Not bad at all!

wishes the couple decades of love, success and togetherness.
